Our department's motto is "Eat to Learn, Learn to Eat." This speaks to our pledge to support the learning process because breakfast and lunch are part of a child's learning day in many ways. Employment Opps

If you are interested in working with food and children or if you are looking for part-time hours that will allow you to leave after your child leaves for school and return home before they get home from school, consider joining Laveen's Child Nutrition team.

To be qualified for one of our positions, you will need a Maricopa County Food Service Worker Card, which is required by health code, and a high school diploma or GED. Physical mobility is a must; you don't have to "keep up with the kids," but you must be able to stand at your work station or on the serving line and be able to lift 40 pounds. Previous knowledge of commercial food services or even school food service is preferred, but not required. We offer on-going training opportunities in food preparation, food safety, school food service compliance, and more. To see what jobs may be currently open, visit our Job Openings page.
